Long Technical College Student Chapter, NAVTA Tuesday, February 7, 2006 5:00 PM Veterinary Technical Building, Room 121 Attendance: Advisor Pam S. Garner, CVT Members Randy Pitcher, President Julie Allen Peggy Simpson Sean K. Long Non-members Sarah Hudson Robert Abbott Items: There was not a quorum of members; therefore, an election to fill the empty officer chairs (vice president, treasurer, secretary) could not be held. Therefore, the president, Randy, is still taking over those roles until they can be filled. The constitution/By-laws could not be approved due to lack of members at the meeting. Valentine Bake Sale: The bake sale will be held on Monday (2/13) and Tuesday (2/14) during the big breaks, after school (mornings) and before school (evenings). There is a signup sheet for working and baking on the Vet Tech office door. During the bake sale, we will also have some items from the pet basket sale available for purchase. Sean will also be working on sample bumper stickers that people will be able to order through us. Because there have been a lot of stray cats roaming the grounds of the school, it was decided that we would try to catch them and turn them over to the A.S.P.C.A. or the Humane society. We cannot keep them at the school per USDA regulations. After multiple futile attempts by both the morning and evening classes to catch the cats, it was decided to purchase a humane cat trap for that purpose. Randy will look into prices and find the least expensive one and purchase it. More ideas for fund raising were brought up. A car wash combined with a yard sale was decided on. We will be shooting for the weekend of April 8th and 9th. Randy will type up a letter asking permission from the property manager for those dates. Alternate dates will be April 22nd and 23rd. The next LTCSCNAVTA meeting will be on Tuesday, March 7th at 12:30 PM Respectfully Submitted, Randy Pitcher President, LTCSCNAVTA
