Long Technical College Student Chapter, NAVTA Tuesday, March 7, 2006 12:30 PM Veterinary Technical Building, Room 121 Attendance: Advisor Pam S. Garner, CVT Members Randy Pitcher, President Julie Allen Robert Abbott Sean K. Long Items: There was not a quorum of members; therefore, an election to fill the empty officer chairs (vice president, treasurer, secretary) could not be held. Therefore, the president, Randy, is still taking over those roles until they can be filled. The constitution/By-laws could not be approved due to lack of members at the meeting. There will be an election by ballot. We will be taking nominations until the next meeting (April 4th). Ballots will be made up and distributed to all LTCSCNAVTA members. Pam Garner (advisor) will collect the ballots and they will be counted by her and the president (Randy Pitcher). The Valentine Bake Sale was a great success. We made over $240.00. Many thanks go to the morning students who helped with baked goods and their time setting up and selling them. Thanks also to the three evening students who helped and donated baked goods. Julie will be getting a letter typed up to send to the property manager to find out any limitations about having a car wash/rummage sale on April 8th. Robert mentioned that his wife may be able to prepare Indian Fry Bread at the car wash. That will be addressed in the letter to the property manager. Sean is working on some t-shirt ideas for raising money. Pam brought up that the Vet Tech bulletin board needs to be changed. Since March is St. Patrick's Day and St. Patrick is famous for getting rid of all the snakes in Ireland, it was decided to have a reptile theme for the month. Sean will research frogs, Robert - Gila Monsters, Julie - Snakes, Pam - Iguanas, and Randy - Bearded Dragons and Turtles. The next LTCSCNAVTA meeting will be on Tuesday, April 4th at 5:30 PM Respectfully Submitted, Randy Pitcher President, LTCSCNAVTA
